This page collates just some of the work I’ve been involved with to some significant capacity over the years.

> 2011

Tate Kids: Airbrush (Plug-in Media, Lead Developer / Engine and Webcam Systems Architect) A painterly app with a unique feature: webcam motion input (I based this system in part on my understanding of insect visual input). Follow the development’s progress on the Tate Kids blog. Update: this project won an Interactive Media Award at the close of the year.

Also: Super Grover 2.0 Super Loft (Sesame Street), Driving Academy (BBC), undisclosable research and development projects in Unity and iOS (Plugin Media)

> 2010

The Octonauts: (Plug-in Media, Lead Developer / Engine Architect) A deeply entertaining undersea romp, with Captain Barnacles and his intrepid crew.

Driver Dan’s Story Train: (Plug-in Media, Lead Developer / Engine Architect) All aboard with Driver Dan and his friends in this Papervision 3D interactive storytime.

Richard Hammond’s Blast Lab: (Plug-in Media, Lead Developer / Engine Architect) Get behind the scenes and play the role of a Lab Rat in this 3D environment with physics and video games, supporting the hit kid’s science show.

Mascot Maul: (Plug-in Media, Lead Developer) Run, kick, jump: Escape certain death at the hands of the local wildlife… whilst playing keepie-uppies.

Zingzillas: (Plug-in Media, Lead Developer / Engine Architect) Explore the Zingzillas’ island, interacting with it’s inhabitants, playing games in order to win coconuts and unlock the Big Zing – a webcam based ‘play along’ musical experience. We won our second Bafta in the Childrens’ Interactive category for this production.

> 2009

Pet Shelter (Augmented Reality component): (Plug-in Media, Developer) FlARToolkit based Augmented Reality pet-in-a-box experience for this charitable establishment.

Blue Peter Turkish Bizarre: (Plug-in Media, Developer) Run, jump, escape from imminent doom in this frantic platformer… whilst stuffing your face with the local dessert.

Staraoke Stage Fright: (Plug-in Media, Developer) Chuck gunge at kids! But let the right colour tee-shirts make it into the safe zone to perform the winner’s dance.

> 2008

Big and Small: (Plug-in Media, Senior Developer) A massive 3D environment encompassing many rooms and minigames! We won our first Bafta in the Childrens’ Interactive category for this production.

> 2007

BBC Primary History Timeline: (Freelance, Luecker Interactive – Developer) An interactive timeline hosting supporting material for the BBC’s Primary History content.

> 2006

The Right Mix: (Freelance, Plug-in Media – Developer) Mix rancid coctails, then make the unflappable barman take the hit!

Plug-in Media website – Space Invaders ‘hidden’ minigame: (Work Experience, Plug-in Media – Developer) Visit the lab and pull the levers… Fulfill the diabolical process to unleash a retro classic, as true to the original as humanly possible (my first full game production).
